Originally known as Clear Creek, League City was first settled in 1855. Some of the first settlers were farmers, ranchers, and merchants who realized the importance of League City as a link between the ports of Houston and Galveston. Many of the shops are located in historical buildings, which makes shopping or browsing that much more fun. Also enjoy the huge Live Oak trees which are living symbols of League City and provide a welcome canopy of greenery.
